Lanard K-9 Corps: Greyslash
Art Design: Colorful window box with good comic book art on the front and excellent photos of the rest of the series and a history of the characters on the back of the box. This K-9 Corps series was aiming to launch a cartoon, but apparently that never happened and there does not appear to be any Wave 2 of these figures.
The original K-9 Corps were trained for the Army in 1942 and the Navy, U.S. Marines, Coast Guard, and  Central Intelligence Agency also have K-9 Corps.
Headsculpt: The art on the front of the box looks like the Man-Wolf, a Spider-Man villain. The art depicts Greyslash  with an open mouth, so it would have been nice if the action figure also had biting-jaw  feature. Unfortunately, it does not. However, the headsculpt is pretty good. It looks like the werewolves from the movie Dog Soldiers. For any fan of werewolves, this 12" action figure has a lot of potential.
Articulation: is the only defect with this figure. The arms could not hold a pose, and the legs are almost as loose. Posing the figure required balancing the body so that it would not immediately fall down. This Greyslash is a shelf diver that needs customizing so that the joints are tighter. Hopefully this is just a random defective figure. One nice touch is the bandaging on the right arm and leg. The black, spiked gloves and the huge hands add to the menacing look of the creature.
Outfit & Gear: Greyslash includes a pair of blue and black tiger stripe pants, a large plastic chain, dog-tags, a trading card, and a cartoon CD. The dog tags fit into the talking  command console that is included with the commanders of the two K-9 Corps factions.
The K-9 Corps is led by Dr. Elliot, the human scientist whose mistakes created the evil mutant dogs. In order to capture the super-powered mutant dogs, Dr. Elliot created another batch of good mutant dogs. The cartoon CD has the same information, graphics, and photos that you can find on their website. The K-9 Corps is an great  idea, but Lanard has not done much in the way of marketing it.
Overall: These collectible action figures are available at K-Mart and other stores for $12.99 each. It is a good buy if you get a figure which does not have loose joints. These  characters would fit in as great allies for the 12" Sideshow Universal Monsters like Dracula, The Wolfman, and Frankenstein!
