Art Design: The painted illustration on the front cover depicts the Viking Bowman in front of a background of other Vikings in battle. This Viking Bowman is specifically modelled on the historical Vikings of the 10th-12th Century. Action figure collectors can always rely on Ignite Toys to capture the historical accuracy in their 1:6 Scale collectible action figures. The inside front cover provides a brief history of the Vikings.
Headsculpt: The headsculpt reminds me a bit of Dolph Lundgren. The figure has long blonde and ruddy skin. The paint applications look good, but perhaps the cheeks have too much rouge? Then again since the Vikings were usually living in cold weather climates, it would not be unusual for someone to look like that.
Weapons: Ignite Toys makes the weapons for all their figures from die-cast metal. The long knife is all-metal, and so are the arrows. You can really poke your eye out, so don't give these sets to young children. The bow can actually shoot arrows and the figure can be posed aiming an arrow. The arrows' quiver has a shoulder strap but it looks like it is made out of imitation leather material. The battle axe has a nicely weathered handle that looks like the same wood from a traditional Baseball bat.
Gear: A real leather belt also includes a leather sheath for the long knife and a leather pouch with a working clasp and an imitation ivory latch-pin. The most unique item is the hollowed-out, imitation-ivory horn that was used for drinking. A leather thong attaches it to the leather belt.
Clothing: The figure has a dark blue smock, plaid pants, awesome leather-like booties (they look really good). The winter fur hat is made with a blue velvet cloth and trimmed with brownish fur. It matches with the blue smock and looks great! The crowning achievement is the leather vest with the fur trim! The white trim feels like rabbit pelt. The vest is real leather, and it is amazing. Tiny leather thongs clasp over thick imitation ivory buttons. You really have to see and touch this vest to appreciate the quality, and how good it looks.
Overall: This is another outstanding set by Ignite Toys. Their attention to quality and detail delivers a superior collectible. The vest, horn, axe, and boots are unique! This is a nice historically accurate display piece which would look good in any home or office. Collectors can get it from Merit International, the U.S. distributor.
