Packaging: Carded box which clearly shows the product on the front, and the back of the card has a collectible File Card and photos of three other figures and some un-exciting copy regarding DUKE and the Cobra Commander. A little more history would be good, especially since there are various different directions that were followed by the comic books, the movie, and the two cartoon series.
Headsculpt: Similar to Snake Eyes, FIREFLY has a molded on scarf and a very nasty bumpy scar over his left eye. Snake Eyes has the scar over the right eye. FIREFLY is perhaps the coolest GI Joe headsculpt since Snake Eyes (although Gung Ho is another favorite). FIREFLY looks like a real tough gladiator!
Figure: The figure is a Muscle Body Joe with the Gung Ho Grip. I like the Muscle Body the best, and the Gung Ho Grip is the new deal but it also leads to a lot of dropped items. Unlike the previous Joes who could hold a gun, rifle, or gear in their hands for YEARS of display, the Gung Ho Grip is good for about fifteen minutes of gripping power.
Gear: FIREFLY wears shorts and a silver armor vest which also holds his gear. The suction cups actually work! As all toy collectors know, that is rarely the case. Check out the photo of Firefly climbing on my TV! If not for daughter complaining that she did not want to watch TV with an action figure sticking on it, Firefly could have sticked to it for days! Firefly also has a cool Cobra tatoo on his left arm and a bunch of dynamite on a suction cup! He can actually attach the goods to a target and then leave!
Overall: Another great new headsculpt, excellent gear, and a collectible File Card makes this set one of the best.
