Speeder Bike: This is a nice vehicle for die-hard Star Wars addicts. I bought this set for the figure. The Bike would last about ten seconds in the hands of any kid, but it displays very well. The detailing and paint application is excellent. While the Bike looks cool, the very long front of the Bike makes it very easy to break, so handle with care! As a display piece, it is very nice. It is large and takes a lot of space due to its length. However, it is hard not to admire the fact that it really looks just like the one that Luke was riding in the movie.
Overall: For the TARGET price of $40.00, this set includes a good action figure with a great sculpt, and a very well done vehicle.
Grade: A
Star Wars Speeder Bike & Endor Luke Skywalker
Packaging: A very colorful window box with an interior card that has the Speeder Bike suspended as if in flight as an Imperial Soldier is catching up to Skywalker. The back of the box has photos and detailed information regarding the Speeder Bike's features. One of the best features is the acrylic stand which can tilt at three positions to imitate evasive manuevers.
The Figure is an Action Man type of body with a CC neck post that can be transferred to any GI Joe. This is a fully articulated Action Man, not the Hall of Fame version. Luke also has the bionic Black Hand.
Headsculpt: The new Luke Skywalker head is the most realistic one I have seen so far. It looks just like Mark Hamill post-accident. Additionally, the skin tone is very much as I remember it. This is the Mark Hamill of "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." This is the least cartoonish of the Mark Hamill headsculpts.
Outfit: A nice black jumpsuit with the regulation brown vest and brown belt. Also included is a camouflage poncho which is excellent, and as far as I can tell, the poncho and the helmet are the "Endor Gear." All the other clothes are the same style as every other Luke Skywalker. There is a very simple tan poncho also included strapped to the Speeder Bike. The boots are the same pointy black boots that Skywalker gets in every set. The helmet and poncho are excellent, but I hoped for some "Endor" pants, shirt, and boots too. Also included is a black plastic belt to hold the light-saber which is included.
