Packaging: A very colorful box with a small window that shows the upper chest and face of The Green Goblin. The box is the most professional and artistically done movie-character packaging I have seen. Unlike the boring Star Wars-Hasbro movie figures, this box has graphics that jump right at you! The back of the boxs has a little bio about The Green Goblin (the movie version) and the window clearly shows the full action figure.
The Figure: The body feels like a Sideshow Toys action figure. It is a bit light, and feels like the kind of hard plastic that tends to be a bit brittle. It has all of the articulation of a Dragon figure, plus cut joints at the biceps and thighs. You can pose this figure in just about any possible position. However, the hands are both in the 3/4 open position, so gripping anything besides air will not be easy. Ironically, the hands would be perfect for throwing the Stun Pumpkins that ARE NOT INCLUDED.
The Headsculpt: It looks like JIMMY OLSEN!! It sure is not Willem DaFoe, and Norman Osborn from the comic books had a much more sinister face. This Green Goblin looks like a really friendly guy. He really looks more like what I would imagine a Flash Thompson headsculpt would look like. The actual sculpting is very well done, it just does not look like Norman Osborn or Willem DaFoe.
The Outfit: The green armor looks great. This figure could actually be modified to be a Green Knight from the Marx Action Figure line and it would look good without the mask and with some medieval weapons. The spandex
suit fits on very well. This outfit is similar to the Final Fantasy figures in that the armor is sewn on to the outfit.
The Gear: THERE IS NONE. No Stun Pumpkins, no satchel, no stun darts, or any other traditional Green Goblin weapon. There is no Goblin Glider either. A dedicated fan could adapt many of these items from the various other scale versions of the Green Goblin, however this cheepie oversight is really pathetic, and what I would expect from TOY-BIZ. On the other hand, these figures are retailing at $19.99 which is much less than Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda (for example), which are $27.99 each and only bring a handgun.
Overall: The outfit and figure are excellent, the lack of gear and the Jimmy Olsen headsculpt are typical of Toy-Biz, which until recently used to make 12" action figures that were hardly more than lumps of rubber that were very similar to Stretch Armstrong toys.
