Packaging: Window card with a photo of the figure on the back of the card. The photo on the back has a nice background of sand and clouds, and some rocks in the foreground. It must be a fun job to take the photographs for the GI JOE cards, boxes, and advertisements. U.S. Army's Ron Rodriguez has pointed out that there is no SAWS gunner, but a Squad Automatic Weapon Gunner (SAW). Ron also says that a Ranger would normally go into a tactical environment by putting some appropriate camouflage on the face and wearing a long-sleeve shirt.
Figure: Muscular body Joe with Gung-Ho grip. The headsculpt is a pinhead with reddish brown hair.
Gear/Outfit: Nice new Desert Camo pants and shirt. Extra nice desert beret and a helmet with the camouflage painted on a opposed to a fabric covering the helmet. The boots are the usual ones for the Desert Storm type figures. The M-60 has lots of detail, and it is one of the most detailed weapons that Hasbro has ever produced. Also included are two ammo pouches, a canteen, a web-belt, and two ammo belts.
Price: I got this one when it came out and Wal-Mart had them at $9.99 but it went up to $14.76 a week or two later.
Overall: For $9.99 it was a great set! The Desert Tan Beret is excellent and so is the SAW weapon! At $15.00 it is just an average value, but it looks good.
