Packaging: Action Man's Deep Sea Mission: Ocean A.T.A.K. comes in a standard colorful Action Man style Orange & Black box with great illustrations that show clearly how to use the shark and the shark cage. This is a very kid-friendly Action Man set.
Gear: A standard Action Man is included. This is a fun Adventure set for kids who like Ocean Themes! The set includes a diving suit made of polyester or spandex; the diving helmet, which is extraordinary and looks like the ones from The Abyss movie. Also included is the chest harness and Oxygen Tanks and an additional Robotic Arm which has a working claw and also shoots a missile. A pair of long black boots which are usually included in the "Space Commando" set are included here. Including Diving Bell boots or swim fins would have been better than rehashing space boots. For anyone who has watched any Discovery Channel or Animal Planet shows regarding underwater exploration, the space boots will seem out of place and you can just use scuba fins from any scuba diver set.
The Diving Cage: The best part of this set is the Diving Cage, which every fan of "JAWS" or most other shark movies and documentaries has seen! At the top is a photo of the Diver with the Diving Cage's top door opened and closed. As you can see from below, the Diver fits into the Diving Cage, and it looks very good and is also sturdy. The giant shark that is included has a huge head and teeth (see photo). This set is made for FUN, and it is fun just setting it up, and it would be a lot of fun for the pool or a bath tub. This is a great set for kids of all ages! In these photos, the generic Action Man figure was replaced by a Starting Line-Up 12" Kordell Stewart head on a SLU Jackie Robinson body. The SLU 12" football players have the open hands which make it difficult to grasp any thing, so I transferred Kordell to a Robinson (Baseball Player) body, which has the gripping hands.
Overall: A great set for any collector, fan of Shark movies, or the person who enjoys Deep Sea Diver and 8 Ropes of Danger sets.
