Art Design: The front of the window box has a clear view of the 12" Dennis Rodman figure (1:6 scale) and accessories plus a photo of his face.
Headsculpts: The Dennis Rodman figure includes two headsculpts. This is great, because if you are looking to kitbash villains, with the Dennis Rodman set you get two heads that can easily be the linchpins of any underworld cartel. The head on the basketball player has rose colored velvet fuzz. The second head has a green velvet fuzz and silver sunglasses. This one looks even more menacing. The heads fit on any Ultimate Soldier or GI Joe neckpost. When these originally came out back in 1998 they seemed a bit odd. But now it is a good way to add cheap villains to your Villain Society. There is another version around which was issued wearing a Wedding Dress.
Figure: The 12" action figure cannot even hold the basketball in its open hand unless you work hard balancing it. The only positive about the figure is that the arms have those tattoos that look good in any photo story about drug dealers. The arms do not bend. The legs slightly bend. This is like a Crack-Head Kenny Doll. Normally, I would toss out the non-articulated figure and put the head on something better, but the tattoos make the figure more realistic as a rapper-thug.
The Gear: Rodman is equipped with the basketball outfit and a silver lame' vest, girl's jean shorts, and silver booties. The boots would look good on some kind of Space Super Hero. On Rodman, the Disco Outfit really makes him look too fey to be a proper villain. So I put him into a kitbashed outfit composed of GI Joe Ninja pants, Andromeda boots, body, and forearm-bands; Shaq's Laker shirt, the Misfits pleather jacket, and a Nazi Sub Commander cap. An Uzi in one hand and Schlitz Malt Liquor in the other hand, and this Rodman figure looks like a real thug.
Price and Availability: Originally, this set was sold at $19.99 and later clearanced at $8.00 by most K-Marts and other quality retailers. Now it is mostly on e-bay where I got this one for $8.99 including postage. Not bad for one complete Villain and an extra head.
