Art Design: Very colorful carded action figure with art and information regarding other figures on the back of the card.
Headsculpt: This DEMON action figure really pays tribute to the art of Jack Kirby. It is a faithful recreation of his legendary style, and from the thick neck to the thick blocky fingers, THE DEMON looks like he jumped right out of a vintage DEMON comic book. THE DEMON was one of Jack Kirby's many creations for D.C. Comics back in the early 1970s after Jack Kirby bolted from Marvel Comics because D.C. Comics paid better.
Sculpting and Paint Apps: The paint application to this figure is outstanding. Look at the photo of the head, and you can see that the teeth are painted perfectly with a tiny gap of pink to show that the DEMON's mouth is slightly open. THE DEMON also has purplish skin growths all over his body, and these are perfectly painted without any drips or paint over-runs. The sculpting of the body is very impressive. THE DEMON's boots look great, and his biceps, shoulders, and chest are a work of art. He sports a six-pack of abs that any bodybuilder would die for!
Outfit: THE DEMON is perfectly dressed in his yellow-orange skin with red boots and red outfit and a purple-blue real fabric cape. He looks good, and the cape is very nicely done with the amulet that hooks it together on the front.
Articulation: THE DEMON has less articulation than a MARVEL LEGENDS figure, but he is about the same size at 6.75" tall. The knees bend and the legs move up and down only. The arms move up and down only and the hands can be rotated just like the neck. The only defect is that THE DEMON was sculpted with his neck sideways in an expression similar to HAMLET when the character is traditionally delivering his monologue regarding DEATH. That means that even though you can rotate the neck, it looks kind of odd in any other position.
Overall: THE DEMON is a work of art, worthy of the legacy of JACK KIRBY. Action figure collectors & fans of Jack Kirby and/or THE DEMON should get this figure. The original price from DC Direct was around $10. but you can find it on e-bay at anywhere from $6.99 and up.
