Art Design: A very nice display box that also has a lot of comic book art that is similar to the current cartoons but also has a nostalgic look like the 1960s Ideal Super Queens Batgirl and the D.C. Comics of that era. This set of Barbie Super Heroines includes Wonder Woman and Super Girl. These figures are a great addition to any Barbie or superheroes collection.
Figure & Headsculpt: The flaming red hair is reminiscent of the Batgirl from the 1960s TV series, Yvonne Craig. The animated cartoon version also has the bright red hair, and this Barbie has a been gifted with a beautiful mane of red tresses. The face looks a lot like the old Super Queens. It is a variation of the Barbie face. The body is the gymnastic Barbie body that can flex its arms and legs. Unfortunately, Barbie still has not decided to give its figures gripping hands.
Outfit & Gear: The outfit is really amazing. It is an awesome lycra style bodysuit in dark blue with a metallic sheen. The Yellow Bat emblem is applied perfectly, the cape and cowl is made of a nice silky fabric. The boots fit perfectly and the doll can stand easily on her own. The only drawback is that the mask is fitted to hold under the cowl with a stitch on each side of the mask. My daughter took the mask off, and it was not possible to put it back on unless it was sewed back on. An easily removable mask would have been a plus. Aside from that detail, the outfit is a classic, and Mattel Barbie deserves a lot of credit for doing a fantastic job.
The Motorcycle: Stands up against anything issued by GI Joe. It is a nice cycle with headlights and a windshield that won't fall off. The rear-view mirrors are adjustable and it has a kickstand too. The front wheel turns as it is steered by the driver, and this bike could withstand a lot of playtime.
Detailing: The bike has some very nice colors, yellow and blue with yellow Bat emblems on the front and sides. It is all nice and crisp, this motorcycle looks sharp.
Overall: This set is retailing at $24.99, which is an excellent price for a very unique figure and a motorcycle. The quality is outstanding, a wonderful tribute to Batgirl.
