G.I. Joe Yellow Helicopter 2004 Hallmark Ornament

The incredibly accurate Hallmark Adventure Team GI Joe and Yellow Helicopter.

Art Design: Very elegant Hallmark Keepsake Ornament box with a blurb about GI Joe on the back. The Ornament: The actual helicopter is one piece. The tail and the windshield are not removeable. The blades attach to the rotor and they have little grooves that insure that the blades won't fall off. The rotor turns so that you can spin the blades. The winch has a stringlike thread and a hook. This helicopter looks so much like a brand new original, that it brought back memories of a Christmas Day many years ago. The windshield is crystal clear, and this little helicopter and GI Joe look so cool that only the photos can capture the magic. Every little detail of the helicopter has been miniaturized.

Overall: This is the icing on any Adventure Team fan's GI Joe collection. Most collectors cannot afford a mint condition Vintage 1:6 scale Yellow Helicopters. Maybe a brand new Yellow Helicopter was never as bright as this one. Maybe the windshield was never as clear as this one is. However, this Hallmark Yellow Helicopter has captured the Adventure Team Yellow Helicopter as remembered when the box was first opened by thousands of children in the early 1970s. It is guaranteed to give any true-believer the kind of blast from the past that takes over thirty years to build up.

Availability: It is usually available at prices ranging from around five dollars up to fifteen dollars from e-bay and other online dealers. As the supply dries up the prices are bound to get higher.

Grade: A+  

The push button for the rotor does not work, but it is there. The cockpit and interior of the helicopter is exactly correct! The slots where the control panel slides into the frame is reproduced along with the control panel too! The only parts not reproduced are the decal that attached to the dashboard and the joystick. The helicopter has a little metal hook so that you can hang it on a Christmas tree or from the ceiling of your home or office or over a bookshelf. The GI Joe Adventure Team figure is attached by a small peg to the frame of the helicopter. He looks great, but does not have Kung-Fu grip! The two large photos posted are about 150% as large as the actual ornament. The small photos are about 75% the size. The Helicopter is about 4.5" long from the tip of the landing gear to the fin. It is 2.5" tall. The G.I.Joe is about 2" tall. The set is 1:32 scale. A lot of joy in a small package.
