Art Design: The Outer Limits 12" action figures by Sideshow Toys feature some of the most amazing five panel boxes. The box cover photo is suitably eerie, the back cover has an even better photo of the Ebonite Interrogator which shows his bat-like wing span and claw-like hands. The inside of the front cover has cast information and a synopsis of the story.
The Figure: The figure is a Sideshow Toys version of the ultra articulated body. The hands are well sculpted and shiny and purple. I am not sure that they convey the grimy look of the character.
The Headsculpt: is of the Chief Ebonite Interrogator. The headsculpt by Mat Falls has a passing resemblance to the mask that was used for the movie version of the Green Goblin action figure.
The Outfit: Talk about a fashion statement! The Ebonite Interrogator is an amazing psychedelic fashion plate dressed in a Peter Pan style purple lycra bodysuit with a lavendar wingspan and a purple neck collar. Brings to mind The Kinks hit song "Dedicated Follower of Fashion." This outfit would have been great for Prince to wear during his PURPLE RAIN era. The E.I. also has a silver collar around his neck.
The Gear: The Control Box is something that looks like an old 9-volt portable transistor radio and the psychotronic Torture Wand looks like a long Phillips' head screwdriver.
Overall: The Ebonite Interrogator is not just a piece of TV history, but an over-the-top action figure!
