The Figure & Headsculpt: The figure is a standard Blue Box Elite ultra-articulated body. The Reverend "Rev" Bem was the Science Officer on the Andromeda Television series during its first two seasons. Actor Brent Stait played the role of Reverend Bem and had to leave the show due to allergic reactions that he had to the make-up. Rev Bem is a very grotesque and ugly creature, and the action figure headsculpt is outstanding! The nose looks just like an open leper's sore. The various skin lesions are depicted mostly in tones of brown and tan. Any hobbyist can easily customize the figure by adding grosser reddish highlights to the various sores.
The Outfit & Gear: There is no gear except for the bead bracelet and necklace. Rev Bem is wearing a brown furry-hair covered bodysuit. The furry hair outfit is excellent. It looks very realistic and it is woven into the suit very well. Rev Bem also has some faded-bloodstain covered Mummy-rags around his forearms and ankles to cover his other leper lesions. Rev Bem also has what looks like an aluminum or metallic-flaked hood and a laced lobster-bib. Rev Bem's silver necklace and charm looks nice over the lobster-bib. Even a sore-covered alien leper has fashion sense.
Overall: This action figure creature is excellent for collectors of horror/monsters and science fiction fans, or true fans of the Andromeda series. Rev Bem could be a cousin of the Sasquatch or Chewbacca, or just a cave creature or an alien monster. Your imagination is the only limitation! But there are few 12" action figures that can claim to be more grotesque than this one.
Market: Toys R Us still has these figures at the full price of $27.99. Some online dealers have them cheaper, and on e-bay they can be found in the range of $15.00.
