Art Design: Plain window box for a 1:18 scale Dodge Command Car which is part of the 21st Century Toys' Ultimate Soldier X/D: Xtreme Detail series. This set is licensed by the estate of General George S. Patton, Jr.
Headsculpts: The likeness of Gen. George S. Patton, Jr. is very good. The mean, sour-faced resemblance is impressive, especially since this is a 1:18 scale action figure (4" tall). The Driver is younger and his face has that 1940s "Average Joe" or "Dog Face" look. Patton's pitbull, Willy, also received quality sculpting and he looks like the dog in the Patton movie.
Articulation: These 4" tall figures have cut joints at the biceps and just under the knees. The knees, elbows, arms, and legs can move between forty-five and ninety degrees. The head can swivel at the neck joint. The hands are molded in a half-grip which allows them to hold most items including a jerry can, stick-shift and steering wheel (see photo of the Driver).
The Gear: The figures each have a stand. Patton has a nice three-star helmet. An ammo pouch, utility pouch, pistol and holster all snap onto the figure. The Jeep includes a removable machine gun, a spare tire, and two gas cans.
The WC57 Dodge Command Car:The attention to detail is what has given 21st Century Toys a great reputation since their inception. The hood of the vehicle flips open on both sides and a detailed engine is underneath. The undercarriage is also detailed. The vehicle looks historically accurate. The back of the Command Car has a non-removeable axe, shovel and pick-axe attached. The trunk cover can be latched up to make a bench seat or work bench.
Overall: World War II hobbyists will get a lot for their dollar with this set. It is available from online dealers, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, K-B Toys, and other retail stores.
