Packaging: Wide flat box with all the goods on display. The gear is all vacu-packed on the backing card, so if you want to display it, you will have to damage the backing card in order to remove the gear. The figure is twist-tied to the cardboard.
Figure: A CC body GI Joe with the odd "Flipper" hands. These type of hands show up on just a few sets. The trigger finger is pre-cut on each hand.
Outfit: A very nice camouflage shirt, pants, and cap. The boots are the GI Joe standard black boots. I put Dragon boots on the trainee.
Gear: The web-belt and harness are well done, the canteens fit easily on the belt, there is space for a side-arm holster and a knife, which I added to the figure. There are 2 claymores included, an M-16/M-203 grenade launcher with an ammo clip and 3 M203 grenades. The grenades fit into the M203 which clips on to the M-16. The Stinger fires a plastic missile, and it includes a shoulder strap & the control pack attaches to the web-belt.
Overall: At current market prices ($19.99) it is not a bad set. For the same price, 21st Century Toys will include more pieces of gear. The camouflage on the face is unique, even if it may be unrealistic. The outfit is very nice. The 7th Ranger is nice set for GI Joe collectors.
