Packaging: This window box puts it all on the line, and it looks good in the box. Purgatori is the demonic lesbian vampire created by Brian Pulido for Chaos Comics.
Headsculpt: Purgatori has a Barbie-style of headpost. Head-on, Purgatori is an ugly face. Sideways, she looks ugly too. But at some angles, she looks like Vampirella or Betty Page.
Articulation: I tried to bend her leg to pose her sitting down, and the leg broke at the knee. The legs bend less than a 45 degree angle. They hardly bend at all. The brittle toffee-like plastic makes this a DISPLAY-ONLY FIGURE. The upper torso has ball-jointed muscular arms which look very good on a female figure. The bottom torso looks like it was ordered somewhere else and then put together in Hong Kong. The arms bend. The hands are open and claw-like. The ankles bend as part of the molded-on shoes.
Outfit: Leather-like vinyl which fits tightly on Purgatori and displays well. One plus is that the vinyl leggings kept the broken leg from collapsing. So Purgatori is poseable even with a broken knee-cap.
Gear: Purgatori brings a couple of Skull-things which I attached to her arms. Thanks to Australian reader Ian Vandala for pointing out that the Skulls are actually supposed to be placed on her shoulders (shoulder pads). The wings attach to holes in her back, and fall off if you move her at all. This seems to have been made as a Mass Market version of a Comic Book Super Hero Statue, for the fans who do not want to spend $125. for the resin statue. As a statue, Purgatori is a good value. As an action figure, Purgatori is pretty from afar, but far from pretty.
Price: Purchased on e-bay for $4.99 plus Shipping and Handling charges.
Overall: Purgatori looks bizarre. The blank expression, white eyes and gaping mouth make this figure look dumb-founded or awe-struck. The ultra cheap plastic looks and feels cheap. Purgatori looked a lot better inside the box.
